I have a confession to make. I’ve never done a bottomless brunch. Ever. I think in my head they always conjured up a bit of a ‘pack ‘em and stack ‘em’ scenario, but after visiting Sukhothai on South Parade, Leeds to sample their new offering over the weekend, I realised how wrong I was.
Sukhothai has a long-standing reputation as one of Leeds best destinations for premium Thai cuisine and their entry into the bottomless brunch market offers every bit of the impeccable quality and service they’re known for.

As first-timers at Sukhothai, we were struck by the visual appeal of the restaurant from the moment we stepped inside. This place is an Insta lover’s dream, and the warm welcome of the staff set the scene for a really memorable experience.
Explaining the options, a friendly team member told us we could choose from two courses plus a side dish, or three tapas-style dishes plus a side dish, along with 90 minutes of limitless Prosecco, house wine, Singha beer, fruit juice, soft drinks, or a cocktail of the week. I loved how you could switch between the drink options too. My Mum and I are Prosecco lovers, but we just had to try one of the restaurant’s signature cocktails before switching to the fizz. The Blushing Dragon was a beautifully balanced medley of fruitiness reminiscent of my childhood fave Um Bongo (only readers over 40 will understand this reference!) and it looked gorgeous too.
Let’s talk food. We both opted for tapas and loved how our three choices came plated together – complete with beautiful vegetable art – for maximum visual appeal. The taste most certainly matched the aesthetic, with the Satay Gai – grilled chicken skewers marinated in Thai herbs with a side of deliciously rich peanut sauce, a favourite for both of us. It was closely followed by the Tod Mun Pla – authentic Thai fishcakes with sweet chilli sauce and a real fiery edge, and the plump and juicy Gung Ta Krai king prawns in a crisp and fragrant lemongrass batter. I also loved the Tung Thong, filo-wrapped parcels of vegetable deliciousness with a gorgeous yellow hue.

Our chosen sides of noodles and egg fried rice were generous in size and almost a meal in themselves!
At the risk of sounding a little one dimensional, it was all gorgeous!
With all of this on offer for a wallet-friendly £35, we’re already planning our next visit. Take your Mum, take your mates, take yourself or take a date. Just make sure you go!

Your Thai bottomless brunch can be enjoyed from 12-3:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays with the last sitting at 2pm.
