Seafood and Champagne Pop Up Terrace is Back!

The Devonshire Arms is delighted to announce the return of their Champagne & Seafood Terrace for its third summer season, launched on Good Friday, April 15th.

This elegant pop-up marquee has proven to be popular with locals as well as tourists over the past couple of years – unsurprisingly…. The opportunity to enjoy uninterrupted views over the magnificent Dales, including Beamsley Beacon and the River Wharfe, where diners can feast ‘al fresco’ on freshly caught seafood, including shellfish from our East Yorkshire waters, whilst sipping a glass of their favourite Champagne in this peaceful corner of the Bolton Abbey Estate, creates a unique dining experience to savour.

A must for all Champagne lovers, this year the Terrace will be showcasing all 16 Grand Marque Champagne Houses, in a selection rarely seen in one establishment. With the world’s finest Champagnes to choose from, including Laurent-Perrier, Bollinger, G.H. Mumm, Veuve Clicquot, Perrier-Jouët, Ruinart, and even the rare Piper 2008, diners will be spoilt for choice.

The drinks menu of course extends to some delightful summer wines, or premium chilled beers to complement the delicate seasonal flavours of the seafood plates.

Delectable light bites on this season’s tempting menu include Popcorn Mussels with Wild Garlic Mayonnaise, Seafood Linguine, Sundried Tomato and Samphire and Crab ‘hotdogs’ Brioche Roll, Guacamole and Grapefruit; mouth-watering Seafood Platters to share feature a selection of taster dishes, such as Crispy Whitebait with Saffron Aioli, Potted Shrimp with Sourdough Croutes and Smoked Salmon, Capers, Lemon Crème Fraiche and Walnut Bread.

Al fresco lunches linger well into the afternoon and early dining experiences capture the soft evening twilight, being enjoyed from marble café tables within the marquee, accompanied by favourite tipple, whether it be the Laurent-Perrier Champagne La Cuvée, or a chilled New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, courtesy of the hotel’s well-stocked wine cellar.

Desserts are carefully selected to complement the meal, some with a delicious chocolate theme, and another with wild elderberries, whipped into a scrumptious meringue fool; or a platter of local artisan cheeses.

The convivial ambience of the restaurant is enhanced by features including interior decoration and displays, candlelit evenings; with heating, throws and cushions for guest comfort when required.
