SALT Leeds City Bottomless Brunch Review

Lots of places serve bottomless brunch. It’s fast become a staple outing for those looking to live large at the weekend by gorging and feasting on as much as humanely possible in a limited time slot.

SALT Leeds City may be a little late to the bottomless party, but this stylish and ultra-modern craft and cocktails bar has brought along plenty of tricks that make them stand out.

For just £34.95, guests can enjoy 90 minutes of free-flowing craft beer, Prosecco and no less than 8 draught cocktail concoctions. Add to this a mouth-watering selection of artisan cheese and charcuterie from The Cheesy Living Co. and you’ve got one hell of a brunch.

The bar itself has gone for the tried and tested contemporary industrial look adopted by so many other bars, but whilst others feel tired and a little bit tacky, SALT owns the look with its own distinctive flavour. You won’t find any Insta-worthy angel wings attracting every Kardashian clone in town here. It’s cool, cosy and laidback.

My partner in crime and I began with a couple of pints, brewed by the SALT Beer Factory in Shipley. The Jute Session IPA is the one to go for if you like your beer light and citrussy, whilst the YON Lager is a little heavier with a hint of sweetness.

Any doubts that cheese and charcuterie would not be sufficient as a brunch were soon quashed when a generously sized smorgasbord of delights arrived at our table. The selection on offer was diverse, inventive, and delicious in typical Cheesy Living Co. fashion.

The meats on offer are out of this world, ranging from the cracked black pepper salami to the Monmouthshire pork collar and spicy smoked paprika chorizo. But it’s the insanely good cheese selection that really ups the ante.

SALT LEEDS CITY COCKTAILS ON DRAUGHT

The wonderfully nutty truffle gouda was a personal favourite, whilst the charcoal Cheddar, Leeds blue and Waterloo brie also went down a storm. Complemented with a mix of buttery Kermit green Nocellara olives, sun-dried tomatoes, cucumber and gin relish, caramelised balsamic onion and sea salt crackers, it was the perfect spread.

It’s worth noting SALT is the only place in the city that offers such a wide range of draught cocktails, and all come perfectly served. You’d never guess they weren’t mixed from scratch. We especially dug the Salted Caramel Espresso Martini, the Pina Colada and the Aperol Spritz.

Overall verdict

If you’re seeking out a bottomless brunch with a difference, SALT Leeds City is the one. Speedy service, a lively atmosphere, exceptional food and a phenomenal choice of drinks make this an essential visit.
