The brand new restaurant will be bringing authentic Austin barbeque to the heart of Soho

This March will see Red Dog Soho re-open with an entirely new concept celebrating Austin Barbeque, American craft beers and whiskey. The beloved original site closed at the end of last year following a fire and is thrilled to be opening its doors once more.

The 40 cover restaurant will feature relaxed seating for couples or groups with saloon-inspired interiors designed by LSM.


The brand new menu, designed by owner Tom Brooke himself, will include refined versions of Texan barbeque classics such as smoked USDA beef brisket with mustard barbeque & pickled chilli and St Louis pork ribs with Carolina barbeque & 10 spice dry rub, but will also feature Fried oysters Nashville stylesoft shell crab with green tomato vinaigrette and Morcilla sausage. Vegetarian options such as Fine roasted aubergine parmigiana will also be available.

Devotees of the original Red Dog burger will have the opportunity to try an even more indulgent version: the 10 Year Burger which incorporates marrow butter glaze and pancetta into the 30-day dry aged beef patty mix for added depth. All of the meat has been sourced from one of the best high-quality, organic butchers in the country, who also supply iconic venues such as Claridges and The Dorchester


Fans of craft beers can work their way through a carefully curated menu that will feature Red Dog Lager on tap, as well as craft stouts, IPAs and lagers from The States. Whiskey lovers will have their pick of the best corn, wheat and rye whiskies, served up straight, as sours, or as a “boilermaker” where a shot of the good stuff is served on the side of your beer. Starting at just £36, you can also buy a ½ bottle of whiskey to share with your companions at the table.

Speaking about the opening, Tom said, “We wanted to do something that was true to the inspiration of the restaurant and would appeal to the barbeque purist. I’ve always been a massive fan of the classic, dry-rub, smoked BBQ style of cooking. There is nothing like this in the area and it felt like the right place to launch this new style of menu that we are so excited about.”
