Prince Arthur – the pub that gained instant recognition for its exquisite Basque-inspired dining room set within a gorgeous pub in Belgravia – has announced that it is developing its brand and bringing the idea of Prince Arthur to a new location in Chelsea, opening end of September.
Once a pub, Prince Arthur’s updated concept is a restaurant and bar, whilst continuing with its Basque-inspired menu. The new location, set on the corner in the middle of Chelsea, is located across two floors. The ground floor is home to the restaurant, with seating up to 79 guests and featuring gorgeous floor to ceiling arch-shaped windows spanning two walls designed to let in maximum light during the day, with a bespoke fire in the middle of the dining floor to create a cosy dining experience and mirror the kitchen’s wood-fired grill. Upstairs, guests will find the Chelsea Music Bar, a luxurious and exclusive late night music and cocktail lounge.
Prince Arthur Chelsea will also be home to al-fresco dining, with space up to 16 covers outside on the gorgeous streets of Chelsea, going around the corner building that Prince Arthur now resides at.
Returning to Prince Arthur is Head Chef Adam Iglesias, who will lead the kitchen and oversee the next evolution of the menu. Iglesias originally led the food offering at Prince Arthur in Belgravia, helping the restaurant achieve recognition in the Michelin Guide for two consecutive years. At Prince Arthur Chelsea, Iglesias and the team will build on this foundation to an even higher standard.
The new menu will be seasonal and ingredient-led, continuing to cook over live fire with Basque techniques, using exceptional produce including the best seafood in London.
The Chelsea restaurant will feature fresh seafood served from the counter where guests will be able to choose the exact fish they want to eat, leaning towards a classic European dining style. Caviar will also be produced inhouse, and both meat and fish will be dry-aged on site. Alongside new dishes, a number of Prince Arthur signatures will remain firmly on the menu, including sea urchins, txuleta, carabineiros, whole turbot and lobster rice, preserving some of the dishes that became synonymous with the restaurant in Belgravia.
The wine and drinks menu is no afterthought at Prince Arthur, with the wine line comprising over XX hand-picked wines, with a particular focus on Spanish and French producers to complement the cuisine. The drinks offering will also continue to see Guinness on the menu that Prince Arthur Belgravia became renowned for, poured through the same specialist lines and system associated with pubs in Ireland.
The Chelsea Music Bar upstairs is inspired by Tokyo’s late-night listening bars, combining a vinyl-led music programme, live performances and a high-end cocktail offering. The bar is in an intimate setting with a long bar area and low level seating, providing a luxurious and exclusive feel where guests can continue their evening after dinner, listen to music, sip on cocktails and stay late into the night.

Prince Arthur developed a loyal following in Belgravia; Prince Arthur Chelsea aims to build on this foundation as it looks to become a more serious, ingredient-led restaurant downstairs with its distinctive music and cocktail bar upstairs.
