Popular Vietnamese coffee shop, bar and kitchen Nǎm Sông launched in Leeds. The much-loved independent, founded in Sheffield and now in New Briggate, Leeds, opened on May 27th.
The brainchild of husband and wife, Jim and Melissa Rose, Nǎm Sông offers all-day-all-night dining in a laid-back and colourful environment. It offers amazing Vietnamese food, drinks, and Nǎm Sông’s legendary Phin Filter Coffee.
The concept was born to follow the couple’s gap year travels to Vietnam, where they fell in love with the people, food and culture. Their passion for Vietnam was so great that it inspired them to bring a bit of it back home with them. The rest is history…
The Leeds opening is the duo’s first venture outside of Sheffield and brings the total number of Nǎm Sông venues to three, joining its sibling restaurants in Broomhill and Sharrow Vale, Sheffield. The name means Five Rivers in Vietnamese, which is an ode to Nǎm Sông’s Sheffield roots.
Speaking on the launch, Nǎm Sông Co-Founder and Managing Director, Jim Rose, said: “Leeds’s food and beverage offer is highly regarded. To be opening in the city and in such good company is something that we’re really proud of.
It’s been a tough year for everyone in hospitality. We are, however, pleased to have been able to navigate our way through it successfully and come out growing. The months ahead are really exciting, and we can’t wait to get started at New Briggate.”
The finishing touches to Nǎm Sông Leeds were completed and follow a 12-week fit-out. Details of the striking and extremely instagrammable interior were being kept under wraps until launch however the founders promise it is a bright and colourful addition to the city.
The opening sees 25 jobs created, providing a welcome boost to Leeds and the hospitality sector, as the industry prepares to welcome the return of indoor dining.
