Pimms Sundowner at The Tower Hotel, Tower Bridge.

The perfect spot to enjoy the best sights of London this Summer. When you are experiencing things in our wonderful capital city, as a tourist and also as a local, sometimes the best times come in the form of spontaneous social gatherings.

That’s what came to my mind when I enjoyed The Lawn at The Tower Hotel on a busy and very hot Saturday lunchtime. My husband, myself and my pizza loving 13-year-old son were thrilled to be invited down to the Thames riverside to indulge in drinks, food, and to soak up London at its best – bathed in sunshine and bustling with life! Down on the Thames banks, in the middle of the summer, is quite frankly my most favourite place to be in the world. So I couldn’t wait to get there and be enveloped in the atmosphere.

Joining forces with Pimms and its new creation – The Sundown, The Lawn at the Tower Hotel has created the perfect chilling spot for a hot and buzzing London. This is a place to stop for a while and enjoy the amazing sights on offer, while grabbing a refreshing drink and eating a satisfying bite.

Sitting like a hot spot of a gem right in the middle of all this iconic scenery of London is The Pimms Sundowner – the brand-new installation that promises guests the chance to immerse themselves in one of the most recognisable and quintessentially British drinks brands – Pimm’s – and enjoy unmatched views of The Shard, Butler’s Wharf and of course the world-famous Tower Bridge. If you want some incredible photos – this is the place to be!

Shaded by large Pimms umbrellas and with the classic Instagramable giant deckchairs you couldn’t ask for more as a destination to have some summer fun with mates or with the family. But there is more! With The Lawn joining forces with the unmistakably summer drink Pimms, there is of course many fantastic drink options. Is there anything better than to kick back, watch the vibrant city around you and spend a few hours sipping a cold Pimms cocktail? Well, maybe a pizza or a burger wouldn’t go amiss? But don’t worry, they’ve thought of this too!

Once you’ve settled into the scene you can order wood fired pizzas and delicious and freshly made burgers. The menu is full of the classics, my son particularly enjoyed his salami option, which came straight from the pizza oven in moments; I choose the veggie one which was just the perfect size, smothered in seasonal vegetables. What a classic combination in the sunshine – Pimms and thin based, cheesy, wood fired pizza! It’s a match made in heaven! But don’t skip the burgers either, as they come from the insanely good Absurd Bird, which is one of the most exciting, and fastest growing burger companies in the U.K right now. If you love a good burger, you won’t be disappointed!

This spot would be the sort of place you’d spontaneously partake in and have a seriously great time. Out with friends, needing a bit of refreshment, you’d stumble upon this perfect riverside area and take fun photos for your socials, whilst enjoying the great food and drink on offer.

What a fantastic space to get the most out of this incredible weather we are having in the Summer of ’22. And how much have we missed these moments in the past two years? It’s time to make up for it, and there’s not a better place to do that than the Pimms Sundowner at The Lawn. The Tower Hotel, St Katharine’s Way, London, E1W 1LD
