Menu Pierre Hits Bistrot Pierre

In this day and age who doesn’t love a good bargain! As Yorkshire Food Blogger Of The Year I’m a massive believer in everyone being able to enjoy a lovely meal out at the fraction of the cost, so I’m dead impressed the fabulous Bistrot Pierre, Ilkley have introduced ‘Menu Pierre’ where you can choose two courses for £17.95 or three courses for £20.95.

I think that’s an absolute steal and a total win/win situation, being able to go somewhere nice like Bistrot Pierre with a lovely atmosphere and even better food – you can’t go wrong.

On a balmy September afternoon, quite possibly the hottest day of the year at 29 degrees, myself and my cousin who was over from Australia, headed to Bistrot Pierre Ilkley, where we were excited to try a range of traditional French cuisine.

Bistrot Pierre

From the moment we walked through the door we knew we were going to enjoy the three course meal and we even opted for a few lovely cocktails.

I loved the wide range of drinks and dishes on the set menu, I think the Menu Pierre offering is amazing for the price and if like me you are watching the pennies in the current climate, you can be sure your money will be well spent on enjoying two or three courses for £17.95 or £20.95, and you can add a glass of signature Cuvée 22 wine, a pint of Biére ’94 or a soft drink for only £3.

Menu Pierre features a selection of Bistrot classics from Baked Normandy Camembert to Boeuf Bourguignon, Chicken Diane and Crème Brûlée.

For starters I enjoyed the Baked Normandy Camembert with a dipping sauce and bread to die for. The portion was just right and my main course choice, Fishcake Niçoise was divine. Salmon and Smoked Cod Fishcake with buttered new potatoes, French beans, olives, red peppers, plum tomatoes, gem lettuce, soft poached egg and Dijon beurre blanc. I really enjoyed the runny poached egg which was pure perfection and me being me and having a massive sweet tooth, I ordered the Pot au Chocolat – rich chocolate mousse with a layer of raspberry coulis, fresh raspberries and a sablé biscuit.

I can officially say the food at Bistrot Pierre is excellent! If you are looking for something a little bit different, enjoyable and affordable, I highly recommend a visit to this lovely restaurant.

I think my cousin Denise is most definitely going to go back to OZ and will rave about the place as much as I have!

Check out the Menu Pierre and thank me later.
