We’re now half-way through summer and the school holidays, it’s time to share a few family-favourites from Brewers Fayre with the nation. They are offering an excellent line-up of affordable dishes, mid-week treats, and fun for all the family.
Our writer, Rachel McAlley went to The Watermill in Halifax, a well-known Brewers Fayre to try out the menu with her daughter one sunny afternoon in the school hols.
We sat overlooking the canal watching the moored barges, kids playing, and anglers fishing; it was a lovely corner of the restaurant. Coupled with an excellent affordable menu for the family at Brewer’s Fayre, it was a great option for lunch.
New Menu
The new summer menus have plenty of choice for the entire family, including Pizza, Chicken Burgers, Cheesecake, and much more. We opted for the Loaded Nachos (£6.29) and Salt & Pepper Calamari (£5.69) to start. Closely followed by the Chicken, Mushroom and Onion Pizza (£11.89), Spicy Chicken Burger (£13.29), and Katsu Chicken Topped Chips (£4.99) to share for main course. We actually had to take half the pizza and half the chicken burger home as the portions were massive, and we wanted to try the desserts. So, for pudding we went for the Caramel Apple Betty (£5.59), and the Ice Cream Sundae with Cadbury Nibbles (£5.79).
The food was really good quality, the service was excellent, and the Brewers Fayre itself was very busy, which made it a great environment. All-in-all this was a fun lunch at a great venue, with lovely view overlooking the canal.

Part of the new summer menu, is to take your classic Margherita base and customise with a choice of three crowd-pleasing toppings. Available from 22nd July – 31st August, enjoy two adult mains and two kids’ meals for just £20!
