Eco Food & Drink Festival Championing The Wonderful Yorkshire Coast

If you are in Scarborough this weekend take yourself to the Scarborough Spa for a 3-day food, drink, and music festival.

Foodie fans at the ready!

Yorkshire’s new eco-friendly food and drink festival – Savour the Yorkshire Coast – is coming to Scarborough Spa this weekend.

Eco Food & Drink Festival Savour the Coast

The festival taking place on 12th-14th May, will be a first of its kind on the Yorkshire Coast. Set to champion the food offerings from across the coastline with a sustainable, eco-friendly ethos.

Building on Scarborough Restaurant Week’s success, Embers owner has teamed up with local producers and talent to organise the festival. Uniquely, the event will celebrate what the Yorkshire Coast has to offer, whilst recognising the efforts that producers and vendors make to protect the environment.

Taking over Scarborough Spa’s Sun Court, Savour the Yorkshire Coast will feature an array of local food producers. Likewise, the stage will be set for a brilliant atmosphere with live music from local bands and musicians.

Whether you’re looking for a seafood vibe, have more of a sweet tooth, or can handle the heat, visitors can enjoy it all. There will be fresh oysters or crab from Arnolds, locally-made artisan chocolates from Crofts Chocolates, and sauces from Smoking Hot Chilli Bees.

Furthermore, to wash it all down, local producers including Filey Gin and Wold Top Ales will all be on offer. Moreover, there will be plenty of vendors to showcase many more drinks too.

To reduce the environmental impact, producers and vendors are committed to making a difference, starting with biodegradable friendly food packaging.

Funded by the Yorkshire Coast BID, the Savour the Coast project aligns perfectly with the BID’s mission to the highlight what the area has to offer. Equally, they are wanting to protect the Yorkshire Coast for future generations.

“Savour the Coast is set to be a fantastic event, championing local producers and vendors whilst also keeping the environmental impact front of mind, which is crucial to us at the BID.”

And it’s not just about the food, as the entertainment is packed with great local bands too. From Tom Davenport to Annie and the King, this is an event you don’t want to miss out on.

Tickets have sold out for this free event, but there are walk-in tickets available on the door each day of the festival.

“As demonstrated throughout Scarborough Restaurant Week, the Yorkshire Coast has a great offering of restaurants and talented chefs. This is the perfect way to sample some of the local food, chat to the producers and really get stuck into what the Yorkshire coast has to offer, so be sure to come hungry!”
