There’s a buzz around the Leeds area and it’s all about DeBaga Restaurants! Of course, Team H&N were keen to find out what the buzz was about.
Timing is everything and DeBaga were launching a new Bottomless Brunch at their Chapel Allerton restaurant, which we were invited to attend. Looking at their website, we were immediately excited by the images and really looking forward to trying their food. It had been ages since we visited an Indian restaurant and this statement really hit us:
“People from around the world flock to Goa for its beautiful beaches, lovely parties, thrilling adventure, laid-back vibe and of course, the delicious food!”
Expectations were high.

Their speciality is Indian cuisine with a modern interpretation, a modern Indian dining experience with a menu full of mouth-watering Goan and regional specialty dishes and, stunning cocktails. We were not to be disappointed, in fact our expectations were not only met – they were exceeded!
The décor is bright and vibrant, the welcome unrivalled with the biggest smiles we have ever seen and once seated at our table, it was time for Prosecco and Mimosa’s! The music from the DJ on the decks was just the right volume to be able to hold a conversation without raising our voices, and the tunes were pure vintage funk and soul. We were in our element.
As the restaurant filled up, there was a definite party atmosphere and the food….well the food was unbelievably good.
So here’s the deal.
For 90 minutes you can choose from unlimited Prosecco, Mimosa, Aperol Spritz, House Wine (red or white), or lager.
From the food menu each person chooses a small plate and a big plate, and as there were four of us, we decided to each choose something different and share the lot! Yes we are food sharers and I know this is not for everyone but it’s a great was to taste a number of dishes in one sitting. It works for us.
What did we eat?

We started with the small plates. Lamb Croquettes – lamb mince with Indian ground spices. These were very moreish and we all agreed we would have been happy just munching on these for 90 minutes! Then we tasted the Gunpowder Prawn Toast – how fickle we are. We quickly realised there may not be a favourite dish here.
Our other small plates were Beetroot Mathri Chaat – savoury tart filled with beetroot caramelised in Tamarind sauce and Mushroom Bartha Rissios – pastry filled with smoked aubergine and mushroom. One word covers both – delicious(!) and where there’s beetroot – we’re there!
Big Plates came with accompaniments, so no fear of leaving hungry. Again, we each chose a dish and everything was placed in the middle of the table so we could share. We had to have the Paneer Steak with Palak – served with basmati rice and a buttered naan. Thick, juicy slices of paneer (Indian cheese), we couldn’t go wrong with this dish as we are all cheese monsters at H&N.
We also had Tandoori Chicken with Makhani Sauce, again served with basmati rice and a buttered naan. The chicken was juicy and very tender and the flavour was rich, creamy and buttery. The Grilled Seabass Fillet, served with assorted vegetables just melted in the mouth and the vegetables worked perfectly.

Finally, a dish we just had to order was Yorkshire Pudding filled with Lamb Keema and served with Masala Chips. It really worked and was just as packed with beautiful flavours as every other dish we tried that day.
We had such a great experience at DeBaga Chapel Allerton that time flew by without us noticing, and even though we managed to stretch our 90 minutes to a full two hours, we didn’t want to leave! Fantastic value at £39.95 per person.
We love a good Bottomless Brunch and with great food, amazing cocktails and live entertainment all taking place in the backdrop at one of Leeds’s most desired areas – Chapel Allerton, we think this will be a party worth getting dressed up for.
If you have been to DeBaga Indian restaurant, you will know how popular it is and booking is a must. We predict it will be even more popular now they have this amazing Bottomless Brunch!
We have no doubt you will see us there.
