If you’ve never experienced a restaurant that is solely about desserts then you’re missing out, especially if you’ve been blessed with a sweet tooth.
We recently visited Heavenly Desserts, in the heart of York city centre to sample some of their vast menu. When we say vast menu, we mean vast menu! They have everything a dessert lover could wish for.
Firstly, there are cocktails, milkshakes, iced drinks, and craft drinks to whet your appetite. Secondly, a selection of chocolate shots, mochi, baklava, macarons, and doughnuts await those with an adventurous palette. Thirdly if you’re into the latest sweet treats then a croffle will keep you trendy. For those who don’t know, a croffle is a cross between a waffle and a croissant, delish!

There are milk cakes, American waffles and crêpes, cheesecakes, cookie dough, puddings, tarts, tortes, and even tapas. Furthermore the menu has even more pages dedicated to chocolate, sundaes, hot puddings, and gelato. It really is a haven for dessert lovers.
What Desserts Did We Choose?
We ordered a strawberries and cream milkshake (£5.30), which was made with strawberry gelato, fresh strawberries, crumbled meringue, and cream. It was creamy beyond our wildest dreams!

With our milkshake we ordered a macaron plate (£4.95), which consisted of three beautifully presented macarons in rose, raspberry, and pistachio. Quite wrongly we assumed the macarons would be petite and would take only one bite until they were eaten. However, we couldn’t have been more wrong, as they took two or three bites to devour and each bite was perfectly subtle in flavour.

Trying an American waffle was always going to be on the agenda, so we opted for a fruity option. The ‘oh so heavenly’ waffle (£8.75) was overflowing with strawberries, raspberries, mango, and pomegranate. It was served with silky maple syrup and an insanely good mango sorbet.
If that wasn’t enough, we pushed ourselves to the limit with a cookie dough dessert. The options were endless but we succumbed to the double milk chocolate cookie dough (£7.25) to finish. This famous Heavenly Desserts cookie dough was hot, molten, and decadently rich. Milk chocolate shavings, Belgian milk chocolate, and Madagascan vanilla gelato poured over the edge of this very filling dessert.

We would recommend booking a table for you and your guests as the restaurant gets very busy during peak times. Guests were queuing outside the York Heavenly Desserts restaurant on the Thursday lunchtime we visited.
There are over 40 restaurants across the UK, visit Heavenly Desserts to find out where your nearest one is located.
The only question left to ask, what desserts would you choose?
