A Meal to Die For: Six by Nico Announces New Murder on the Midnight Express Menu

Six by Nico, the iconic dining experience renowned for its six-week tasting menu rotation, has announced its next innovative concept – Murder on the Midnight Express. This new menu invites diners to channel their inner detective and embark on a thrilling culinary journey back to the glamour and intrigue of the 1930s, where each course reveals a clue to solve the murder of Chef Gustave, turning the dining experience into an interactive whodunnit.

Each menu remains on the table for the duration of the experience, guiding diners through the captivating narrative, drawing guests closer to uncovering the killer’s identity and immersing them in a blood-curdling tale of foul play.

Cooking from the 27th January to the 9th March, the menu is priced from £44 per person, available across all Six by Nico restaurants. Will you uncover the final clue?

While diners enjoy rich flavours of ham Hough terrine, poached sole and chicken balloutine, they will have the help of their servers who take on the role of “game conductors” to bring the experience to life.

Guests have the option of a wine or cocktail pairing, which is served from Course Two and offers the perfect twist to an already unique menu.

Founder, Nico Simeone, spoke of the menu: “‘Murder on the Midnight Express’ is more than just a tasting menu; it’s a fully engaging journey that introduces ‘immersion’ to our creative framework, adding to our existing sources of inspiration that cover Destinations, Memories, and Ideas. We’ve always believed in pushing creative boundaries, and this new creative pillar of immersion adds something missing from the dining scene. It’s not just about food; it’s about giving our guests an experience for them to step into. From the moment they sit down they are provided with clues and case files along with props and story-driven elements to solve the crime.

We have always been dedicated to delivering value through their experiences and we are constantly looking at new ways to innovate and how we try to invest in the dining experience. That’s why this year we’re investing even more into every moment you spend with us – offering extended time at the table to make each visit truly extraordinary.”

With the Six by Nico team exploring new territories, encompassing gaming and narrative design, this initial murder mystery experience will set the stage for future themes that seek to captivate and surprise guests.

As part of this change, the restaurant brand has introduced an extended dining slot of 2.5 hours, giving their guests an additional 30 minutes to enjoy a more relaxed and immersive experience.

Six by Nico caters to all dietary requirements, offering a full vegetarian menu for each new menu concept. Plus, customers can swap courses from the meat menu to the veggie alternative, if they wish. Other dietaries and certain allergens can also be catered to upon request, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the best possible dining experience.

The Murder on the Midnight Express menu is available from £44 per person, along with a wine pairing for £30 or cocktail pairing priced at £40.
