Seal of approval: new partnership introduces Zero Waste Boxes and incentives for Yorkshire coast businesses to work towards greener practices.
Yorkshire Coast BID announces new recycling incentive for the first 20 businesses to sign up to its environmental charter. A new incentive for businesses that want to work towards operating a greener business has been created in conjunction with the Yorkshire Coast BID’s Seal of Approval.
Partnering with Terracycle to introduce zero waste boxes for hard to recycle items covering everything from batteries to crisp and sweet packets, Yorkshire Coast BID is urging businesses to sign up for the Seal of Approval initiative to gain recognition for their work to make greener choices, and spread the word to the public about why it is important to protect the Yorkshire Coast.

The Seal of Approval can be achieved in bronze, silver or gold and has been created in partnership with key organisations such as Scarborough SEALife Centre.
The process for businesses is simple, they simply need to head to www.protectourcoast.co.uk/seal-of-approval/, review the checklist and apply online. The first 20 businesses to do so will be contacted about the Terrabox incentive, which is valued at over £100.
The charter is open to all Yorkshire Coast businesses, big and small, with all participating businesses receiving assets that showcase their commitment.
Clive Rowe-Evans, Chairman of the Yorkshire Coast BID, said: “We’re really pleased with the interest in ‘Seal of Approval’ since we have launched. We’re keen to encourage even more businesses to sign up so we can really make a difference, and the introduction of the Terracycle Zero Waste Boxes does just that.

“All changes, big and small will contribute massively to protecting the area we live and work in and in an area that attracts tourism, showing how businesses can lead the way in showcasing their commitments, it is a great way to spread the message further afield.”
