Halloween at Wookey Hole
21 – 29 October
Prepare to dive headfirst into the enchanting realm of Halloween magic at Wookey Hole, the home of Halloween! FEARless at Avon Valley Scream Park
28 & 29 October
Avon Valley are also hosting two tamed down evenings on 28 and 29 October for families with 11-15 year-old children, with access to 4 scare attractions called FEARless at Avon Valley, tickets from £15.
The Ghost of Cheddar Man at Cheddar Gorge and Caves
21 – 29 October
Celebrate the discovery of Cheddar Man, Britain’s oldest complete skeleton (10,000 years old!) found in Gough’s Cave at Cheddar, 120 years ago. Join the trail and track down Cheddar Mans’ friends dotted around Gough’s Cave to gain entry to The Ghost of Cheddar Man’s fun celebrations and win a reward to take home. Spend A Scary Halloween In Ghostly Bristol and Ghoulish Bath
Howl-oween at Bristol Zoo Project
21 October – 5 November
Explore Bristol Zoo Project in all its ’gory’ by learning about the animal bones, skulls, x-rays, then visit the witch’s campsite to hear spooky stories and create some creepy craft, before finishing the Howl-oween trail with a trick or treat surprise. Howl-oween is included in admission.
Zombie Outbreak at Mendip Activity Centre
6-31 October
Join the Zombie outbreak team to combat the zombie invasion at Mendip Activity Centre. All archery, air rifle, axe-throwing and tobogganing sessions are Halloween themed this October half term.
Luxmuralis: Force of Nature at Bristol Cathedral
30 October – 4 November
For the last part of half term, Bristol Cathedral is hosting another spectacular light show, Luxmuralis: Force of Nature. Which will see immersive, show-stopping visuals projected onto
the historic building, exploring the themes of Fire, Water, Air and Earth. Furthermore they delve deeper into how they relate to religion, mythology and art history. Visit Bristol for more info.
Eek! Week at WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre
21 October – 4 November
Join WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre on an eek!citing half term interactive trail. Where visitors will be dared to put their hand into a snake box, take a photo with a bat, and get up close to a toad.
Buffy Revamped – Theatre Royal Bath

American Halloween at The American Museum & Gardens
21 – 29 October
Enjoy a spooky day out at the Museum with a classic American trick or treat atmosphere and a fun potion trail around the Manor House. Check out the Lego Bricks exhibition and taste some Halloween treats in the American Deli. Visit Bath for more info, £3 per child plus normal admission for the trail.
Witchcraft & Magic at Bowood
21-31 October
Join Witch Ramona and black cat Luna on a hunt to break the spell that the ghosts and ghouls have cast over the Bowood Estate. Find all the things needed to complete the Ramona’s magic rhyme as you work your way around the pumpkin trail this Autumn half-term. Furthermore, the trail is included in the Bowood House & Gardens Day Ticket, normal admission fees apply.
It’s a Hoot at Avon Valley Railway
28 & 29 October
Go on a train ride from this historic station located in Bitton near Keynsham (between Bath and Bristol) and spot birds of prey from Pitcombe Rock Falconry and take part in the Autumnal trail around the station. Moreover, children who visit wearing Halloween-themed costumes or fancy dress will travel for free. Visit Bristol for more info.
Woeful Wounds at Brunel’s SS Great Britain
21 – 29 October
Experience the magic of special effect make-up artistry and visitors to Brunel’s SS Great Britain will receive their own Woeful Wound, much like the voyagers and passengers did on ship hundreds of years ago. Plus, artists from the Specialist Make-Up Design department at SGS College will be there to create fake cuts, blisters and wounds for younger visitors.
Ghoul School at Berkeley Castle
22 October – 5 November
Young thrill seekers will learn how to become proper little monsters at Berkeley Castle this Halloween with this interactive self-led audio experience. Moreover, Ghoul School brings an array of spooky teachers for visitors to encounter with delights, frights and vampire bites.
Concorde20 at Aerospace Bristol
21-19 October
Mark the 20th anniversary of Concorde’s final flight and step aboard Alpha-Foxtrot, the last Concorde to fly, this October half term. Learn about the pioneering aircraft (part-built in Filton, north Bristol, where the attraction is now situated), train to be a Concorde pilot and enjoy interactive exhibits and supersonic sound activities. Equally, visit the museum on Saturday the 25 and Sunday the 26 of November to commemorate Concorde’s final flight from Heathrow to Filton. Pumpkin picking in the west
30 September – 29 October
The west country cities Bristol and Bath are surrounded by swathes of countryside, perfect for pumpkin patches.
This Halloween, head out to Pumpkin Patch at Avon Valley to pick your own pumpkin (30 September – 29 October) for a gourd-geous autumnal experience.
Farrington’s Pumpkin Picking Festival is also situated between Bristol and Bath with its 12-acre patch. Furthermore, a huge variety of squashes ready to pick, as well as carving marquee, fairground games, rides, and straw pool.
