The NYMR’s summer savings campaign will run throughout the peak summer season, including July and August, when seven-day services will operate.  With heritage steam and heritage diesel services running through the stunning North York Moors National Park, the railway provides a nostalgic journey like no other. Prices start from £34.65.

This summer, experience a nostalgic journey through 24 miles of stunning Yorkshire scenery aboard its fleet of historic steam and diesel locomotives. Whether it’s a short ride or a full day’s adventure, the heritage railway offers a range of options to suit all visitors.

The 1930s-themed Pickering Station is a must-see that will transport visitors back in time to the steam era. Next on the line is Levisham Station, surrounded by the stunning North York Moors National Park, not to mention Goathland Station, which became Hogsmeade Station in the first Harry Potter film and was also featured in the TV series Heartbeat. Visitors can also explore Grosmont Station, home to the operating and engineering world of the NYMR, and at the end of the line is Whitby, with its narrow streets, bustling harbour, and the striking ruins of Whitby Abbey.

Activities include The 200 Trail –  a checklist of railway themed activities, The 200 Mile Challenge – to keep track of miles travelled, and the Railway 200 Writing and Art Competition.

Laura Strangeway, CEO at the NYMR, said: “We know that families are looking forward to the summer holidays and this summer it pays to plan ahead for fantastic days out at the NYMR. We want to share the magic of the railway with families from all over to experience everything we have to offer. Whether it’s a child’s first train ride or a return visit for a family favourite, our new offering gives everyone more reason to step onboard.”
