Generations of the Howard family have welcomed visitors to Castle Howard, one of the great palaces of Europe, for over 300 years. A stately home in North Yorkshire, located 15 miles north of York, Castle Howard is a private residence which hosts amazing events within its impressive grounds.
This month of August, Castle Howard’s Live Music Weekend features chilled out sounds of Ibiza, flag waving proms and an orchestral performance of Queen’s greatest hits. All taking place from 20th to 22nd August.
Here are the details for these fabulous events we know you will want to attend:
Café Mambo Ibiza
For the first time, iconic dance music brand Cafe Mambo Ibiza will bring a star studded line up of world class DJs to Castle Howard, for an evening of Ibiza classics and dance anthems. Stepping up to the Castle Howard stage are artists trusted to deliver by generations of clubbers; Roger Sanchez, Judge Jules, Julie McKnight (Live PA), Ridney, Robin S (Live PA), Todd Terry with support from Sam Redmore. This is set to be a serious treat for the senses and a chance to enjoy the biggest Ibiza tunes performed by some of the most respected names in dance music, all set against the awe-inspiring backdrop of Castle Howard.
Tickets for Cafe Mambo Ibiza are £32.50. Gates open at 5pm, the event finishes at approximately 11pm. This event is a non-picnic event.
Castle Howard Proms – Yorkshire’s most prestigious al fresco Proms event
Set in the magnificent gardens of Castle Howard, this spectacular classical concert will be a night to remember for the whole family. Guest soloists, Wynne Evans and Victoria Joyce, will be joined on stage by the London Gala Orchestra conducted by Stephen Bell. The programme will include popular classics, songs from musicals and all your flag waving favourites from the Proms including Jerusalem, Rule Britannia and Pomp & Circumstance No.1. With a Spitfire flyover, stunning lasers and spectacular firework finale, this will be a magical evening of musical entertainment.
Gates open at 5pm with the main programme starting at 7.30pm. This is a picnic style event. Tickets for Castle Howard Proms are £44 adult, £5 child (4-16 years). Under 4 free.
Queen Symphonic
Experience the unforgettable magic of Queen, in this epic rock and symphonic spectacular celebrating their greatest hits. Featuring four exceptional rock vocalists from We Will Rock You, a world class five piece rock band and magnificent The Elysium Orchestra. Queen Symphonic spectacular includes full symphonic arrangements blended with a great rock band and performers honouring the greatest hits of Queen including The Show Must Go On, Somebody To Love, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, We Will Rock You … It’s a rock and classical rave, it’s another excuse to dress up and have fun – but most of all it’s a colossal concert fans will remember.
Tickets for Queen Symphonic are £32.50 for adults and £10.00 for children (4 to 16 years).
