WIN! The Maeve Pet Protection System. Here’s a personal H&N Magazine review.
I recently got the chance to try the Maeve Pet Protection System from Tavo. Basically, it’s a car seat for dogs, but probably not as you’d expect. It’s an absolute game-changer for my 11-year-old French Bulldog (Marlin), who suffers from a spinal disease. This car seat has significantly improved our car rides together and here’s why.
One of the standout features of the Maeve Pet Protection System is how easy it is to install. It clicks directly into the car seat, utilizing the same setup as a baby car seat, which most modern cars, including mine, are already equipped for. This design makes the installation process straightforward and hassle-free. Within minutes, I had the system securely fitted and ready for Marlin, my little old Frenchie.
Given her age and spinal condition, her comfort and safety during car rides has always been something we’ve thought about. Before this we just had a £10 dog box from Amazon – really not good for her. Marlin would often shift uncomfortably and seemed anxious. The Maeve pet car seat has completely transformed this experience. The cushioned support and secure harness keep her stable and comfortable throughout the journey.
The design of this car seat cradles her body in a way that minimizes movement, she can lay down flat in it and that reduces the strain on her spine. When I look back in my mirror, she now appears relaxed and even enjoys the journey, I swear sometimes she’s smiling. She can also see out the window now too as the seat is raised.
After testing it and reading more through the products handbook it’s comforting to know the car seat is tested at dynamic testing facilities that feature cutting-edge equipment and technology. The performance of the system is benchmarked against the latest United Nations ECE child restraint standard (R129). This level of testing ensures that the product not only meets, but exceeds safety standards, providing an extra layer of confidence in its ability to protect my pet.
Technical stuff aside, it’s super stylish. The design and the range of colours and the materials used are all top spec. I chose the Onyx colour, which complements the interior of my Audi as it is all black leather.
You might be thinking after a long dog walk it’s just going to get wet and dirty, but the materials used are high-quality and durable. The fabric is soft and comfortable for my dog but also easy to clean, which is a huge plus. It comes with restraints too if you’d prefer to attach your dog’s lead which I thought was pretty clever.
The Maeve Pet Protection System car seat, which can also be turned into a pet buggy, has been a fantastic addition to our car and the journeys we take with our old girl. The set up was quick and easy. It’s basically a click and go.
I love knowing that our elderly Frenchie is now safe and secure but also really comfy. Above anything else my dog’s happiness is the most important thing, so that’s another point ticked off the list on the pursuit to 100% happiness. It really has made a difference to us and the way we travel.
