You Don’t Have to Live with Thinning Hair

I started 2024 scooping handfuls of hair out of the shower, scraping my hair back into an ever-depleting pony tail and at a loss as to what to with my hair!

The joys of middle age apparently include thinning hair for me and many others, with a new study indicating that over 50% of women reported hair thinning after the age of 50.

Hair loss or hair thinning can be caused by a multitude of things including, stress, genetics, hormone imbalance, lack of Vitamin D or poor hair care and maintenance. I took the time out earlier in the year to get blood tests to try and understand if the problem was linked to an iron deficiency or my thyroid issues and they came back ‘normal’, so I booked a consultation with Neville Hair and Beauty to find out what they could do to help.

This well-established Belgravia hair salon has been enhancing the crowns of celebs and royalty since the early 90’s and Liz their ‘Scalp Specialist’, has been working there for over 27 years.

Liz is passionate about scalp care, as it is not visible it is so often forgotten she explained.  “When did you last give you scalp a facial?” Liz asked. She wasn’t being challenging, she was proving a point that despite our hair loss we still don’t think about treating the area like we might do our faces.

Pollution, products, fingers running through our hair can all cause a build-up on our scalps and lead to clogging up the pores and limiting our hair production. She highly recommends scalp treatments using Stamin Orising Complex products.

This range of products contains plant derived stem cells that are designed to slow aging process of the hair cycle. The products have been around since 1963 and she has been using them consistently on clients with amazing results.

Liz has witnessed complete hair transformations from visible to scalps to healthy, shiny crowns of hair. She combines the product with a steaming process to unclog the pores and thoroughly clean the scalp and a machine to help with scalp stimulation.

Further research has led me to a new treatment on the market by Ouronyx, a non-surgical hair regeneration treatment call TRICOPAT.  TRICOPAT® works via a technique using electrical currents.

These activate fibroblasts and elastin at the scalp, under wound healing conditions, prolonging the anagen regrowth phase of new hair.

It seems that 2024 does not need to end like it started!
