Is there anything more indulgent than a fabulous facial? If you’ve promised yourself to focus on more self-care this year you should really add a good old pamper to your list. Yes, eating well, exercising and saying no to a sugary treat is a great start but nothing will refill your batteries quite like spoiling yourself to something exquisite.

I headed to the GA Salon in South Kensington for a bespoke facial, located helpfully a few steps from the tube. After a busy day sat behind a computer screen I was keen to get inside and be taken care of for a couple of hours.
Smart, bright and ever so welcoming I was led to the lower ground of the salon where the stress and sounds of the busy London street above melted away. I was invited into a warm treatment room, which felt like a hidden cocoon oasis. Slipping under a warmed towel I was taken through my treatment in much depth by the wonderful Aleksandra, the head beautician. She was very keen to attend to any skin concerns I had and as we chatted in a friendly manner I realised she was cleverly calculating what my bespoke facial should include.
She would be using the fabulous Forlle’d range of products, the state-of-the-art Japanese nano-technology skincare line. As I listened to Aleksandra run through the process I have to be honest that I lost count of the many treatments that where coming my way but I was thrilled to hear that I would be receiving a thorough lymphatic drainage massage, something I am evangelical about at the moment. Also on the cards was use of the Byonik laser machine. This clever device revitalises your cells and deeply moisturises your skin. Intensive anti-aging ampoules and collagen eyelids are included leaving an energised and glowing complexion. The best part? Absolutely no down time!
After nearly two hours of wonderful application of Forlle’d products full of nano hyaluronic acid, eggshell membrane protein and plenty of skin loving amino acids I felt a million dollars. My face had been lasered, peeled, massaged and fed – yet it felt gently and lovingly cared for. There was no redness or irritation just plump, soft and glowing skin. I could see and feel the results immediately and was promised the products would continue to work throughout the rest of the day and night. I’m slightly embarrassed to admit now but I took a selfie in the harsh underground lighting after my appointment (if you know you know!) and couldn’t believe how great my skin looked! No needles needed, no down time and the pleasure of the actual session – it’s the best of every world.
As I was leaving Aleksandra also told me to return if I have any red carpet events planned. I hadn’t the heart to tell her I was simply going home to watch the end of Happy Valley! But I was thrilled to be walking in the same shoes as an A-List celebrity. At least I had movie star skin when I sat on my sofa in my dressing gown later!
