The Yorkshire Skin Centre is always ahead of the game when it comes to introducing revolutionary cosmetic treatments and they have done it yet again.
Dr Raj Thethi, owner and facial specialist, tries all new procedures personally before deciding whether to introduce them to his clinic and this time, Yorkshire Skin Centre is the first clinic worldwide to use this technology outside of the U.S. bringing ground-breaking skin resurfacing treatment technology to the UK.
What is laser treatment for skin resurfacing?
Skin resurfacing is a process of rejuvenating the skin using innovative new laser technology. Modern laser treatment can reduce signs of ageing and improve the texture, tone, and appearance of damaged or unhealthy skin without the need for needles and extensive recovery time.

Whether you are looking to treat scarring, eradicate wrinkles or address uneven skin tone, laser-based skin resurfacing can have an incredibly positive impact on a patient’s life, building back self-confidence and vitality.
Yorkshire Skin Centre promotes laser-based skin resurfacing because they believe that it is the most comfortable and safest way to dramatically improve the health of your skin. Dr Raj Thethi is focused on attaining totally natural results, respecting the natural anatomy of the body and face, and working with it to achieve seamless results.
What is Ultraclear laser treatment?

Ultraclear is a state-of-the-art skin resurfacing treatment clinically proven to reduce the signs of ageing using everything we know about the science behind skin. As a pioneer in biomedical aesthetic laser technology, Ultraclear continues to develop innovative technology for safe, low-risk skin rejuvenation.
Ground-breaking laser technology

Dramatic improvement in texture, tone and appearance for all skin types is achieved using cold fiber laser technology, a world first. This ground-breaking laser targets the damaged cuticular cells, clearing the imperfections using thermal energy to heat up the underlying layers of skin. By depositing controlled amounts of thermal energy in the targeted areas, the body’s natural healing process produces collagen, hyaluronic acid and elastin that tightens and revitalises the skin.
Ultraclear has been designed to substantially reduce the discomfort commonly associated with skin resurfacing and ensure an entirely safe and comfortable experience for the client. Ultraclear’s revolutionary technology significantly reduces the chance of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation common in skin of colour as well as undesirable thermal damage.
Characterised by its outstanding results and quick recovery time, Ultraclear is breaking down the stigma behind skin resurfacing and paving the way for a new approach to skin treatment.
How does Ultraclear work?
Ultraclear Skin Rejuvenation works by vaporising damaged tissue and stimulating collagen production. The laser uses thermal energy to heat up the underlying layers of skin, prompting the body’s natural healing process to replace the damaged tissue with healthy new skin. The extra collagen and elastin produced, wind back the clock to a more youthful complexion.
What can be treated with Ultraclear?

Ultraclear has been developed to treat a wide variety of minor facial imperfections including:
Wrinkles
Large pores
Uneven skin tone and texture
Sun damage
Age spots
Scars
Fine lines
Other areas of damaged or unhealthy skin.
What can patients expect from skin resurfacing treatment and recovery?

Compared to standard skin resurfacing treatments, Ultraclear has a quick recovery time. However, people commonly report feeling slight discomfort during laser skin treatment. The sensation typically disappears as soon as the treatment ends. Most clinicians also apply a topical numbing cream to help reduce any discomfort. Depending on the type of laser used and your skincare concerns, you may have some residual redness after treatment, which usually resolves over time.
What are the benefits of laser resurfacing treatment?
Laser skin rejuvenation can offer a variety of benefits for the skin, including improving tone and texture, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, treating hyperpigmentation, reducing large pores, and increasing circulation. As mentioned previously, Ultraclear is designed to minimise discomfort and recovery time for the patient meaning you can be back in the swing of life very quickly.
Will we be trying it out?
You bet! Our editor has tried it and here’s her verdict:
H&N Magazine Review
I was unsure what to expect, but let’s face it – anything that’s going to knock the years off, get rid of those pesky wrinkles and give younger looking skin – I’m here for it!
I had never had a laser treatment and only very superficial skin resurfacing through microdermabrasion, so didn’t know what to expect and decided to go for the least invasive as I had an event to attend 10 days after. I needed to be sure that if my skin reacted in a more dramatic way I would be happy to be seen out in public in 10 days’ time!
My practitioner, Gemma, immediately put me at ease as she had experienced the treatment herself and showed me her before and after photos, the results were impressive.
I was ready. A numbing cream was applied and was so effective that I really didn’t feel anything much throughout the treatment, but I wasn’t prepared for the burning smell! However I soon got used to it. The treatment was over in about 30 minutes, my skin was cleaned and bathed in a thick layer of healing cream. I was handed a bag of goodies to use on my skin for aftercare with explanation of how to use it, and it was time to leave. Gemma explained she would be calling me the next day for an update.
On the way home the numbing cream was wearing off, my face was hot and tingly….and very red! I hid behind my sunglasses and the sun visor in the car and couldn’t wait to get home for a ‘proper look’!
Oh yes, I was red and getting redder! I religiously followed the aftercare instructions, spraying my face with the solution I had been given, dabbing any weeping or bleeding (I hardly had any), with sterile gauze and layering that thick healing cream on every inch of my face at regular intervals.
The redness started to disappear that evening, leaving me with red circles where the laser had hit. Over the next week this got less and less, but as you can’t wear any makeup until your skin has shed, I stayed in hibernation for the week!
Then the flaking of skin started leaving my skin looking smooth and shiny. Ok, this I liked, I was getting a glimpse of what was to come.
I am six weeks post treatment and my skin has never looked better and it has definitely wiped a few years off! I have never had so many compliments.
The results are very natural and I now find myself wondering how much of a difference the next level will make! Watch this space…
