This summer, The Game Bird at The Stafford London, celebrates the spirit of Wimbledon with a limited-edition Wimbledon-inspired afternoon tea, featuring pastries in the shape of miniature tennis balls and strawberry and cream delights. There is also the children’s version of the tea for budding tennis fans, featuring miniature sweet treats and sparkling tea!

Meanwhile, The American Bar is embracing 4th of July festivities with a playful ‘New York Happy Meal’ – a nostalgic nod to the States, bringing a home away from home feel to London with a martini and fries.

Wimbledon Inspired Afternoon Tea
The Wimbledon Afternoon Tea is designed by The Game Bird’s expert pastry chefs and features delicate finger sandwiches and warm scones. There is also a selection of seasonal cakes and pastries including a Coconut & Mango Tennis Ball, Vanilla & Blueberry White Mouse and a Strawberry and Cream Tart. To drink, guests can choose from a wide variety of fine teas and for those looking to prolong the celebrations, a glass of champagne from the Louis Roederer Collection. The tea is a perfect afternoon treat and perhaps an alternative for those who just missed out on tickets, or for those looking to head back into central London, an excuse to refuel after the excitement of the games.


The Wimbledon Afternoon Tea is launching on the 21st June at The Game Bird and is available until the 13th July. Priced at £78 per person, the experience is set within the timeless charm of The Game Bird, renowned for its contemporary take on classic British cuisine.

Children’s Wimbledon Afternoon Tea
The Children’s Wimbledon Afternoon Tea is thoughtfully designed for smaller appetites, perfect for families looking to savour the spirit of Wimbledon and enjoy a delicious treat all together. On the menu is a selection of finger sandwiches and warm scones, plus delicate cakes and pastries, including a Coconut & Mango Tennis Ball – very much in keeping with the theme! To drink, children can choose from a refreshing Hojicha or Darjeeling, Saicho Sparkling Tea.

The tea is for those aged 12 and under and is priced at £59 per child and is available on the following set dates over the Wimbledon season:

Celebrate the 4th of July with a New York Happy Meal at The American Bar
To celebrate Independence Day, The American Bar, one of the longest-surviving American bars in London is launching a ‘New York Happy Meal’ including a martini and golden, seasoned fries. The martini options include Tito’s Handmade Vodka Martini’ and a ‘American Bar Gin Martini’ made with gin from Hawkridge Distilleries.


The stylish pairing can be enjoyed whilst taking in the eclectic décor of The American Bar and iconic memorabilia that encapsulates the space. Artefacts on show include a signed photograph from Clint Eastwood asking to “save a pint” for him, model airplanes donated by the makers of the actual planes, a shark’s jaw, a dollar bill signed by the Secretary of the Treasury of the U.S., and even an adorable Paddington Bear.
The ‘New York Happy Meal’ is the latest addition to the menu at The American Bar and is available from the 4th July for £25 per person.
