Perfect Autumnal Days Out in London

There is something special about London during autumn with the changing of the colours and the crisp weather, plus there are many fantastic things to do in the capital at this of the year. Sound good?

This post will look at a few of the best autumnal days out in London to enjoy over the coming weeks.

Richmond Park

Animal lovers will want to visit Richmond Park in autumn as it is home to over 600 deer and an area of significant wildlife conservation importance. The park is beautiful at any time of the year, but there is something about it during the autumn months when you can see the reds and orange leaves in full force and vast stretches of long grass. It is the largest of London’s Royal Parks, so there is plenty to explore and hiring a bike could be a good option. The park is also just a short walk from Richmond station, so it is easy to catch the train here.

Kew Gardens

Kew Gardens is home to over 500 acres of woodland with the largest and most diverse botanical and mycological collections in the world. It also features some of the best gardening art from the 18th and 20th centuries. Additionally, be sure to climb the 118 steps up to the Treetop Walkway to see nature in its most beautiful autumnal form. The Kew area also has plenty of cosy pubs and cafes to refuel afterwards.

Greenwich Park

Greenwich Park is one of the best places to enjoy views of the city and home to historic buildings, vast gardens, lakes and plenty of wildlife. The park stretches over 183 acres with plenty to see and do, including exploring the boating lake on a pedalo! There are also a few cafes where you can get food and drink to enjoy while you take in the views.

Regent’s Park

Found in Northwest London, Regent’s Park is one of the biggest in the capital at a staggering 410 acres. The natural beauty is reason enough to visit this great park, especially in autumn, but it is also somewhere with plenty to do. Here you have central London’s largest outdoor sports area, four children’s playgrounds, an open-air lake and London Zoo to enjoy on a day out.

Hopefully, this post will give you a few ideas for days out this autumn in London. It is a special time of the year and London has plenty to see and do during the autumn months that will show you the beauty of the capital.
