The WOW Facial is True to the Hype

The WOW Facial promises the ‘ultimate transformational skin treatment’ to leave you with glowing, luminous, and healthy skin.

Like many people I hadn’t invested in my skin over lockdown as I wasn’t going anywhere. I have always had a pretty good skincare routine and I thought that with using less make up my, skin would naturally rejuvenate.

However, I had noticed that my skin had become more sallow, lacklustre, dry and dull. It felt like my foundation was sitting on top of it my skin giving it a dead, lifeless complexion and I had definitely started using more filters on pictures.

I am not anti-filter but I want to shine in real life and was really keen to try this out!

Vie Aesthetics have a lovely clinic based on Harley Street. It is the clean, fresh friendly haven that you hope to walk into. I couldn’t fault their professionalism and I relaxed immediately in the capable hands of Maria.

She talked me through the various stages of the WOW Facial.

Now this is not just a cleanse and moisturise situation. It is a six-stage process and you literally ‘feel’ each stage.

The cleanse is thorough and the peel smells super astringent. It’s mildly tingly but the kind of tingle that you know is doing you good.

The needling does sound quite alarming. They mix a serum suitable for your skin and then distribute it across your face by needling. It’s uncomfortable but not painful.

The calming mask afterwards, feels cool and lovely and the relaxing head massage sooths you while it is doing its magic.

I was a little concerned about being left with a really red face as I have quite sensitive skin and I had a lunch to go to afterwards but it wasn’t too bad. I went bare faced and despite feeling a little tight and sore it was fine. They say to allow seven days for the skin to rejuvenate. During this time, you will experience more wrinkling, dry patches etc. This definitely happened. I increased my water intake significantly during this time and moisturised like it was going out of fashion. Days three and four my skin was really dry!

I started to wonder if their facial was really worth the hype when day seven came and I just couldn’t see much difference.

Then on day nine it was like I had a new face!  I actually couldn’t believe my eyes!

Now I have a luminous glow to my complexion and it looks plump and fresh.

I would recommend leaving a good 9-10 days before a holiday or event if you have this treatment. I am sure it varies for everyone but once you get through the rejuvenation period the results are far more rewarding than I’ve ever had from a facial.

I highly recommend.
