This June, people looking to boost their mental health are invited to escape to Morocco with Resurface, the behavioural health company using flow science and surf therapy, for The Reset Retreat. It’s a chance, mid-year, to focus on the self and recharge from burnout, build resilience and come back feeling clearer, armed with the tools for lasting change.
Rooted in the science of flow, The Reset – new for 2026 – is a week-long, immersive wellness retreat combining behavioural science with daily surfing and restorative practices, where guests actively learn and practise therapeutic techniques they can take home and use long after the week ends.

The Reset runs from 13 – 20 June 2026. Designed as the ultimate self-care escape, mornings begin with mindful movement and psycho-education sessions focused on resilience, values, optimism, and how to achieve sustainable flow. This is followed by daily surf lessons for flow, suitable for all levels, with all equipment provided.
As the day’s surfing gives way to a satisfying, sun-soaked fatigue, late afternoons are dedicated to experiential group therapy, reflection, and deeply relaxing non-sleep deep rest (NSDR), so guests can absorb and integrate the day’s learnings. Evenings are spent unwinding in a traditional riad alongside a small group of like-minded individuals, with shared meals and time for connection forming a central part of the experience.

The Reset is ideal for anyone seeking greater headspace, whether to prevent burnout, boost resilience, step away from the constant juggle, or reignite creativity. It is led by Josh Dickson, Resurface founder and clinical director, an experienced psychologist and accredited EMDR Consultant, and Robert Tame, a Transformational Breath® certified breathwork facilitator and developmental coach.
“Over the past two years, we’ve seen a shift in our clientele,” Josh Dickson, Resurface Founder and Clinical Director comments. “More professionals in their late 30s to early 50s are taking what we call ‘reset sabbaticals’, intentional breaks to recover from burnout. These are not typical holidays, but time set aside to rebuild mental and physical wellbeing. In response to a 25% rise in enquiries from this group, we developed The Reset, a chance to recharge, refocus and build sustainable habits to protect your well-being.”

Founded in 2017, Resurface emerged from Dickson’s personal journey and extensive research into flow – a heightened mental state achieved through immersive activities such as surfing, painting, or pottery. Research from institutions including the University of Sydney* and Harvard University** has shown flow to significantly enhance problem-solving, creativity, and learning – all critical for effective therapy.
This insight led to the Resurface Method, a therapeutic framework built around the flow cycle, combining movement, psycho-education, memory work, and immersive activities. Used across all retreats, it is designed to boost flow, improve sleep, and support long-term mental health. An independent study*** found it consistently lowered depression and anxiety while improving participants’ outlook on life.
