My husband and I have a static caravan in the Lake District, it’s a humble abode we bought to spend time in the great outdoors.
But when I say static caravan, that’s exactly what I mean.
I didn’t know that some ‘caravans’ are literally the height of luxury and offer roll top baths, wet rooms, supersize beds and state of the art technology. Forget glamping, so last year, The Rockstar Caravan is where it’s at.
When my friends and I eventually found Itchycoo Park, a collection of themed caravans/lodges on the sprawling Tattershall Country Park in Lincolnshire, after getting lost a number of times, I was absolutely blown away by the accommodation we had bagged for a two night girly break – a rockstar caravan.
With more style than The Clash, this lodge is badass, glam, punk and full of attitude. Think country chic meets The British Invasion. We were all more than a little impressed. The master suite enjoys a huge roll top bath complete with it’s own flat screen and wet area, huge wardrobes, vanity area and W.C. as well as a plush king size bed, dressed in luxury plaids with plum cushions and crisp white sheets, also complete with huge flat screen tv.
Into the living area and there is a full size dining area with stylish zebra print dining chairs, a beautifully designed kitchen with all the amenities you could possibly need including a very stylish retro Americana style fridge and my favourite thing – a dishwasher!!
Into the lounge area of the Rockstar Caravan and we are relaxing on a huge corner chesterfield style sofa adorned with union jack cushions and plenty of foot stools and over size cushions for lounging around in front of the 55 inch tv! The whole place is so excessive in its design that it feels like I’ve walked into Liam Gallagher’s bedroom in the nineties. In fact, there are even a couple of Oasis dvd’s to get you in the mood, if you aren’t already (nearing on impossible).
The guest bedroom at the Rockstar Caravan sleeps three people in comfy bunkbeds and of course is equipped with its own tv too. This place could turn anybody into a ‘square eyes’. The large house bathroom houses a rock and roll shower cubicle with an absolutely fantastic power shower, I felt like a different person after blasting off the hangover in that!
The hot tub is definitely a highlight of the accommodation, positioned directly outside the lodge, and enjoying relative privacy, you can enjoy a dip whenever you choose. I was in both mornings at sunrise and I absolutely loved it. I must mention, it was also very well maintained with regular checks throughout our stay by park staff.
We did manage to leave our plush pad and enjoy a trot around this immense park which comprises of numerous lakes, entertainment facilities and activities. As our visit was in November, outside peak season, the park was fairly quiet however it was great fun wandering around and seeing all the different types of caravans and lodges. Some of them even enjoy private jetty’s in to the lake with Jet skis and boats moored up outside. If you are looking at buying a holiday home, then I would definitely recommend looking at the cracking facilities here.
Our meal in the bar was very impressive also, really good service, happy staff and good value, tasty food which we all enjoyed.
I do have to mention, there is an RAF base nearby and the fighter jets out on practise was fairly noisy but it didn’t bother us and it was quite exciting to see the planes flying so close.
All in all my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our mini break to the Rockstar. It’s fun, unique and extravagant – what more could you possibly need for a girly break, fun with the family or a romantic weekend with your other half? And if you don’t air guitar to Supersonic whilst you’re there, you’re in the wrong gaff!
Get on the blower and book your break or go all out and look at buying your own piece of holiday heaven at this fantastic park from Away Resorts who specialise in caravans for sale in Lincolnshire
