The Michelin-starred HRiSHi serves classic British dishes with a subtle Asian twist, while the relaxed Gilpin Spice has an open kitchen, offering tapas-style pan-Asian dishes inspired by countries along the spice trail. Each of the hotel’s bedrooms features Lakeland views and some have private hot tubs, steam rooms and saunas. Nearby, Gilpin Lake House provides six rooms and exclusive access to 100 acres of private grounds, a private lake, boat house and swimming pool. An overnight stay is priced from £255 per room per night, including two-course breakfast.
Northcote in Blackburn, Lancashire
The restaurant at Northcote has retained its Michelin star since 1995, serving vibrant, flavourful dishes inspired by the local area. In addition to the á la carte menu, a variety of tasting menus are available, which diners can enjoy from the restaurant overlooking the Ribble Valley, or at the Chef’s Table, which includes a guided tour, sliding glass doors for a prime view into the kitchen and screens to watch close-ups. For those wanting to get in on the action, the Northcote Cookery School offers full and half-day culinary masterclasses throughout the year. An overnight stay is priced from £215 per room per night, including full English breakfast.
