pyropet kisa review

Iceland is known for its sleek, minimalist approach to interior design and now followers of Scandi-style can get their hands on a candle range that perfectly fits this cool aesthetic. The PyroPets range from 54 ┬░Celsius was created by Icelandic designer Thorunn Arnadottir, who dreamed up her animal-inspired range while studying at the Royal College of Art in London.

She first exhibited her devil cat candles in Milan and then at her graduation show in London, where they rapidly picked up a lot of attention across social media and within the online art community. Fast forward a few years later and a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign saw the PyroPet range launched.

Beautifully crafted and in a range of fetching colours, each geometric candle burns away to reveal a menacing flame and a stylish aluminium skeleton. The beasts on offer include a rabbit, reindeer, dog, owl and even a unicorn, but we decided to opt for the classic black cat (Kisa) for the purpose of our review.

Packaged in an eye-catching box depicting your creature of choice, the PyroPets range makes for an exceptional gift and looks so good, you might not want to light it. Of course, we did and were surprised to get close to a 10-hour burn before the cat melted away.

The perfect present for the person that seemingly has everything, PyroPets are truly a work of art.
