Social 24 at Jason Atherton’s Michelin-starred restaurant, City Social, has launched a new cocktail menu to celebrate the New Year.
Curated by Bar Manager Mickael Lenu, the list takes inspiration from the golden age of cocktails and showcases a unique blend of classic and innovative combinations which he describes as ‘a variation between history and modern mixology’.
The new menu has been thoughtfully designed to help guests find the perfect tipple to suit their taste. Quotes from time-honoured cocktail connoisseurs, such as Ernest Hemingway and Winston Churchill, adorn the pages of the menu amidst splashes of colour to represent a range of exciting flavours including – salty, sweet, fruity, floral, sour, and bitter.
From the menu discover the Sunset 24 (£12) illustrated with dashes of yellow to highlight the sour notes, orange to represent fruity flavours and blue for sweetness, comprising Grey Goose vodka, Meloncello, citrus, melon, egg white & melon meringue. The floral and tangy Social Mistress (£13) is made with Bacardi Rum, pear liqueur, Maraschino and blackberry ice cream candy. For a fresh twist on a classic try the Aper Old Fashioned (£12) which includes Aperol, Slingsby Rhubarb Gin and orange candy. Designed to share, discover the Punch Me If You Can, available for two (£26), four (£50) or six (£75) people, served in punch bowls embellished with pictures of merry noblemen who are, also, enjoying punch. This is a playful mix ofBombay Sapphire gin, sloe gin, hibiscus tea, strawberries, grapefruit and the world-famous herbal liquor, Chartreuse. A selection of beers, spirits and non-alcoholic cocktails are also available, as well as a wide list of wines and champagnes to choose from.
The drinks on offer have been designed to complement Social 24’s breathtaking views of London’s skyline alongside a specially crafted menu by Executive Chef Paul Walsh. Later in the week guests can enjoy resident DJs on Thursday and Friday nights from 9pm until late.
In the words of Hemingway, ‘don’t bother with churches, government buildings or city squares. If you want to know about a culture, spend a night in its bars’.
Social 24 is open from midday until 2am, Monday through to Friday, and from 4pm on Saturdays.
