I have super pale skin that inflames at the first sniff of sunshine.
I get prickly heat and instead of a golden tan, I’m a blotchy mess by day 3 of my holiday – which isn’t a good look at any time, never mind when trying to be chic on the deck of a cruise ship in the Caribbean….
Doffing off and baring my milk bottle pins in front of sun kissed bathers in Barbados gives me anxiety, I feel like tumbleweed is rolling across the deck as I plonk myself down on my lounger trying desperately to remain inconspicuous.
You know the feeling right? That first day on holiday, sun beating down, one too many cocktails and reapplying sunscreen goes out the window along with any hope of an even tan. Well that’s me, so I usually opt for an all day product such as P30 which I apply first thing in the morning and forget about. Thing is, my skin is extremely sensitive, prone to allergies and one bite from a mosquito leaves me looking like elephant man – I really need products a little more dedicated to my skin type.
Before I set off on my fortnight break in the Caribbean, I decided to do a little more research than I normally do. I was determined prickly heat and rashes would not ruin my holiday look – I was going for bronzed goddess, not patchy mess.
Cue EVY TECHNOLOGY, a revolutionary Swedish sun care range based on patented medical skincare technology. EVY’s patented formula, based on Proderm Technology, has several unique features that give you superior protection. It forms a protective barrier that enhances your skin’s natural defences. The mousse spreads throughout the top layer of skin, instead of staying on the surface which many creams do, and it doesn’t rub off, whether you swim, sweat, or towel dry. This means you get very long-lasting protection against both UVA and UVB rays.
The main bonus for me though – EVY TECHNOLOGY is specially developed for sensitive and hypersensitive skin and is recommended by dermatologists. The products are also recommended for people with sun eczema (I suffer with sporadic eczema and dyshydrotic eczema which seems to flare up particularly in the heat), sun allergies or albinism and the Vitiligo Association has nominated EVY Sunscreen mousse as the safest sunscreen on the market for their members. EVY is a good choice for those whose skin can´t tolerate conventional sunscreens like mine, because their formula is hypoallergenic and very gentle which suited me down to the ground.
The mousse absorbs so quickly and can be used in sensitive areas, even around the eyes – this is great as plenty of holidays have seen me in constant pain having suncream melt into my eyes and sting for hours – I hate that!
Since the mousse does not need to be re-applied as often as a regular sunscreen, and also retains its protection despite repeated swimming and towel drying, it’s excellent for children. The gentle formula also makes it suitable for very young ones, from the age of 6 months onwards.
Besides my own skin issues, my husband is also fair and has the added issue of suffering with Basal cell carcinoma, the most common form of skin cancer and so has to be very careful all year round, never mind just on holiday. He complains about applying sunscreen as he hates the greasy residue and finds it a chore to constantly make sure his face in particular is protected. He loves this range and applies it every morning as part of his skincare regime.
There are lots of products in the range including tan activators, skin repair mousse, a range of factors and of course aftersun care – I highly recommend EVY TECHNOLOGY , I wouldn’t be without it on my next sunshine break!
