Braun’s budget shaver is far better than it deserves to be, delivering superior results and a solid performance across the board.
If you’re on the market for a new electric shaver, but don’t have the best part of £200 to part with, the Braun Series 3 ProSkin ticks more boxes than most within its price range. Now available for just shy of £50 with a travel pouch and Gillette shave gel included, it also makes for a great Christmas present for the clean-cut gent in your life.
I spent a couple of weeks testing out the Braun Series 3; here are the pros and cons.
Close shave: When all is said and done, it all comes down to performance and this shaver delivers a smooth and comfortable performance for its modest price-tag. The MicroComb technology helps catch more hairs and offers a more even shave too.
Solid battery: The shaver takes just over an hour to reach full charge and then provides up to 45 minutes of wireless shaving. There’s nothing worse than the battery running out mid-shave, however a 10-minute quick charge will provide enough power for one full shave.
Wet and dry friendly: This shaver functions well both dry and with the use of shaving gel (which I recommend if you have sensitive skin), and can be taken into the shower with zero problems.
Looks: Looks wise, the Braun Series 3 is clearly a budget-friendly model, but you can’t have it all for that price and it’s not exactly ugly.
Case: The standard package comes with no carry case, which is a pain if you’re always on the go.
Pick up the Braun Series 3 ProSkin from Argos for just £49.99.
