summer cocktail festival leeds

After the phenomenal sell-out success of The Cocktail Experience over the past few years, the city’s best loved cocktail event is back for 2019 with a twist. Taking place on Saturday 8th June, The Summer Cocktail Experience will be held at the iconic Faversham between 2-8pm, bringing a festival feel come rain or shine.

The best of the best from the thriving Leeds cocktail scene will be present and correct, but this year they are also bringing some of the hottest names from the Leeds food scene too, headed up by the legendary Reds True Barbecue.

Local DJ’s will be dropping a range of eclectic feelgood beats, from current sounds to stone cold classics that are sure to spark instant nostalgia.

Cocktail eye candy

The event will take place both indoors and outdoors, taking full advantage of the Faversham’s recent refurbishment, that’s transformed the venue into one of the city’s most sought after event spaces.

16 essential Leeds nightlife spots already signed up include Call Lane’s legendary Jakes Bar, who have caused a stir in the city recently with a new drinks menu that’s packed with cocktail eye candy. Greek Street’s unstoppable Neighbourhood are also back, and promise to deliver the perfect drink of the Summer.

The Lost and Found Leeds Club will be bringing a suitably refined summer cocktail to the party, while Revolucion de Cuba will be back with sun-kissed creations laced with the spirit of Havana. Angelica’s will be sprinkling the festival with their distinctive brand of glamour, and promise their regulars a decadent concoction.

Perfectly fashionable

City Square’s Banyan are also on the list, and are in the process of designing a refreshing seasonal pour as we speak. Expect the unexpected from Be At One, who seem to have the Midas touch when it comes to remixing classics and creating bespoke dessert cocktails.

Harvey Nichols will also be present, mixing up a perfectly fashionable drink that’s sure to be as iconic as the brand itself. The city’s premier riverside party bar Oracle are cooking up something sweet and summery, while Restaurant Bar Grill are so far keeping their luxury creation under wraps.

Cocktail Experience veterans Manahatta also return, brining with them a welcome injection of bold Big Apple attitude. The booze connoisseurs over at Briggate’s Hedonist bar will also be there, bringing with them some of the industry’s most respected and skilled mixologists.

Greek Street party bar The Liquorist are also on the roster, and have been busy crafting a cocktail that’s designed to raise the roof.

BBQ food fit for worship

Of course, a summer festival in Leeds wouldn’t be right without an outstanding food offering, and who better to headline than the city’s very own Reds True Barbecue? Fresh from launching their mouth-watering new menu, the Reds boys will be bringing Walter the ultimate smoker for the best BBQ food outside of the USA, with a hot selection of juicy ribs, burgers, wings and more.

The YO-31 Wood Fired Pizza Co. will also be checking in, bringing slice after slice of their heavenly dough creations including the bestselling Parma Ham and vegan-friendly Marinara and Truffle Oil. Anyone looking for a sugar rush will find exactly what they’re looking for at the award-winning Doh’ Hut. Their creamy gourmet donuts come loaded with sinful ingredients few can resist.

World Gin Day

Saturday 8th June also happens to be World Gin Day, and so we’ve invited the award-winning Slingsby’s Gin of Harrogate down to host an exclusive gin bar. Guests can also expect gin-inspired surprises and exclusive gin treats from Tanqueray No. 10, Bombay Sapphire, Whitely Neil and more world-beating brands soon to be announced.

Tennis fans can also rejoice, as Pimm’s will also be in full force serving up their iconic seasonal drink from their very own bar.

The Summer Cocktail Experience will be the fifth event from the Pink Gorilla team, and is by far their most ambitious party to date. The company have established themselves as the premier PR and events company in the leisure and retail sector, and have been behind some of Leeds most memorable launches in the past decade.

Director Jordan Odu had this to say ahead of his event:

‘’With the bottomless brunch trend booming in Leeds and Britain’s love of festivals, we thought it was time to take the cocktail party out of its comfort zone, and into the suburbs for more of a festival feel. Having attended various events at the Faversham, I knew this venue was perfect, especially after its refurbishment.’’

‘’The people of Leeds don’t need to be asked twice about a Summer garden party or for a cheeky cocktail, so we’re going to give them the biggest and first cocktail festival the city has seen. I hope to see you at the bar!’’
