The Princess pub in Rawdon has re opened after a substantial refurbishment and we popped down on opening night to check it out….
The Princess Pub in Rawdon re-opened in February after being closed for a total refurbishment, inside and out and what a difference a couple of weeks makes!
H&N were invited to attend the VIP Opening Event and we were suitably impressed by the changes. Outside there is smart new signage, fantastic rustic wooden tables and benches and the Secret Garden to the rear is stunning and a real surprise. This pretty enclosed terrace will prove popular as the weather improves and locals head for beer gardens.
Inside we were initially greeted by that ‘new smell’ which I love; fresh paint and décor, healthy plants in abundance, French polished tables, distressed leather furniture and lovely new wooden floors and smiles all round from the very proud staff.
There’s also a rather substantial new food offering and with the new menu come increased food service times, noon until 9pm Monday to Saturday and noon to 7pm on Sundays. You can expect classic pub food with a twist, a great selection of sandwiches and lighter meals, and of course the great British Sunday Roast!
The comments from everyone at the private launch event centered around how impressed they were and that they would be making this their regular place to frequent.
We decided to try it out again the night after on the first night open to the public, along with a group of friends and the H&N team and we had a brilliant night. The Princess definitely has the recipe for success and will be be a welcome addition to the already thriving drinking and dining scene in the area. It’s certainly one to put on your list for a visit, why not book a table and road test the new food offering?
