Launching in Summer 2019, the beloved bar got together with the hot sauce pioneers to run a quarterly series of supper clubs, combining their love of Mexican-inspired food with some of the world’s most ambitious and exciting hot sauces.
Starting with five handpicked sauces from hot sauce expert (and The Chili Shop owner) Frank Jay, chef Harley Ali creates 5 courses to match each sauce, working to compliment it’s heat and flavour to create the ultimate taco experience.
Frank hosts the evening, and introduces and explains each dish – those lucky enough to get tickets for this third vegan supper club can look forward to a menu set to include dishes such as Salt-baked Rainbow Carrot Taco with ancho-spiced crisps & turmeric sunflower tahini, and Smoked Garlic Potato, seitan chorizo & crema tacos.
Neon Cactus is a one of Leeds’ most popular bars, open for both cosy early evenings & delicious Mexican food, as well as wild late parties 7 days a week. The Chilli Shop, as featured on ITV This Morning, is a specialist shop based in Leeds’ Merrion Centre, dedicated to all things spicy.
Neon Cactus are offering 50% off their new feast menu throughout January, every day except Saturday.
Frank Jay, The Chilli Shop:
“We’ve selected a very special Veganuary supper club hot line up! Amongst the sauces we’ll be challenging the Neon Cactus chefs with is the new 9th sauce from season 10 of Hot Ones – Burn After Eating – used here exclusively for the first time in any restaurant in the world, it contains a new hybrid chilli called a 7-pot primo brown, which should burn longer than any other chilli in the world… We also have a surprise guest appearing and a banana-based chilli product for the dessert. Vegan food can be really exciting, and The Chilli-Shop is very excited to express this in it’s partnership with Neon Cactus.”
