Elizabeth Cottam, much-praised semi-finalist of last year’s BBC MasterChef, and Mark Owens, former Head Chef at the Michelin-starred The Box Tree in Ilkley, have opened the doors of their new restaurant.
HOME – which describes its approach as ‘fine dining, reimagined’ – opened its doors on Friday 18th August, offering monthly set menus exclusively, from three-course lunch menus, through to five and ten-course tasting menus, all featuring an impressive range of seasonal and local ingredients.
As well as a chef’s table experience offering unique insights into the creation of the dishes, served personally by Elizabeth and Mark, the pair have also created a monthly ‘guinea pig’ dinner party concept. Once a month, guests can book to dine for £35 per person but will not be given a menu for the evening – each course will be a surprise for guests, presented with an explanation by HOME’s front of house team. The first event takes place on Wednesday 27th September.
Elizabeth said: “This project has been an incredible journey so far, both Mark and I have poured our hearts and souls into the restaurant and we hope guests will enjoy sharing the experience with us and much as we have enjoyed bringing it to life. It means a great deal to be able to open a restaurant in your home town and we’re looking forward to showing people a new way of experiencing fine dining, right on their doorstep.”
HOME is located in one of the most iconic areas of the city, in the 3,669 sq. ft. space that has previously been a dance hall, billiard club, cinema and Indian restaurant but in this, its newest incarnation, is a 65-cover restaurant with bar area.
The restaurant opens this week in the heart of the city centre and has already sold out weekend sittings for August and early September.
