Thorpe Park Leeds

Gino D’Acampo, the UK’s favourite Italian chef, has announced he is to open a new restaurant at the rebranded Thorpe Park development, The Springs, Leeds.

The Thorpe Park Leeds, 150 seater restaurant will include a coffee & deli bar where guests can eat in or take away from breakfast onwards, a Prosecco bar and alfresco terrace complete with games room.

Thorpe Park Leeds will be Gino’s fourth establishment in Yorkshire and third in partnership with leading UK fashion retailer Next, and follows the success of My Restaurant Leeds city centre, Harrogate and Hull, where he opened his latest restaurant with the retail giant in December 2017.

Work is already underway on the Thorpe Park Leeds  £1.2m development and will open in October. Speaking recently at The Yorkshire Dales Food & Drink Festival, where he made an appearance alongside fellow chef, James Martin, Gino said:  “I’m pleased to confirm I’m expanding my presence in Yorkshire with a fourth restaurant at Thorpe Park Leeds

“It’s a truly impressive development combining great stores, restaurants and leisure facilities; I’m looking forward to being at the heart of it and opening my fourth restaurant in this wonderful county.”

Simon Marshall, Joint Chief Executive of Scarborough International Properties, adds, “We are delighted to welcome Gino and his aspirational brand to The Springs at Thorpe Park Leeds.   The new retail and leisure park serves to provide unrivalled new facilities in East Leeds, not least for those that work here but also for the local community, commuters and destination visitors.  We look forward to announcing further exciting occupiers in the coming months.”

The announcement follows news Gino is to launch a new fast-casual dining concept – My Coffee & Deli Bar, on the lower Thorpe Park Leedsground floor of his Pizza & Prosecco Bar in Manchester next month (September 2018).

Similar to the coffee shops found in Gino’s hometown, My Coffee & Deli Bar will transport visitors to Naples, serving real Neapolitan coffee and Italian food, available to eat in or take away.

Gino first made his move into restaurants when he teamed up with friend & business partner Steven Walker, founder of Manchester based restaurant group Individual Restaurants, the company behind favourites including Piccolino and The Restaurant Bar & Grill.

Despite the current issues facing the sector Gino plans to open further restaurants in 2018 and has a strong pipeline in place for 2019.
