The H&N team is into all things Yorkshire, so when we were offered the opportunity to spend the day at Meadowhall we hopped in the car and made our way down the M1.

Our girl Rachel McAlley arrived at Meadowhall just in time for lunch, so she made her way straight to the recently opened Oasis restaurant Three Joes, a sourdough pizzeria, which boasts great quality pizza.

The staff were very accommodating, extremely helpful with explaining the menu, and full of useful information about Three Joes being a small independent chain of just 3 restaurants in the UK, she was hooked straight away.

She opted for the sharer sourdough wrapped baked camembert cheese with mini pickled cornichons and plenty of extra sourdough pieces to dip in, this was followed by a roasted chestnut mushroom pizza (£8.95) and a Serrano ham and rocket pizza (£9.95) with a side order of parmentier potatoes topped with parmesan (£3.95). Rachel’s 8 year old daughter chose the hummous, margherita pizza, and scoop of ice cream (£4.95) from the Three Joes kids menu.

She can honestly say that Three Joes sourdough pizzas were another level delicious, the soft dough texture combined with the sourdough itself made all three pizzas and the baked Camembert of excellent quality. They even shared one of the Three Joes vanilla milkshakes (£4.95), because they are simply massive!

Even though she didn’t want to leave the excellent Three Joes, because it’s great for people watching, it was time to vacate Meadowhall and head over the road to Jump Inc, where Rachel and her family could let their hair down and bounce the afternoon away.

Jump Inc is an indoor trampoline park for all ages and all capabilities, there’s a full health and safety briefing before entering the park, the ropes are then opened and you are allocated an hour of jumping at your leisure. The space is packed with trampolines, climbing walls, high bars, and tall platforms to jump from, with music that spans generations for all to listen to. And, there are a few extreme trampolines for professionals and advanced jumpers to use – which were fascinating to watch.

Within Jump Inc there are plenty of upstairs tables and chairs to view the trampolines from, a downstairs café to enjoy drinks and food, and an area stacked with lockers for shoes, bags and coats. Plus free parking.

It’s a well-designed, well thought-out layout for all to enjoy the trampoline park. Prices vary, our H&N writer visited on a Sunday and the charges were £5 for children under 5 years old, £8 for everyone over 5.

Back to finish the day in Meadowhall for a little January sales shopping and future planning.

There is plenty to do at Meadowhall this month, including Veganuary, so if you are following this meatfree month there are loads of vegan friendly restaurants to choose from; Yo!, Wagamama, Zizzi, Giraffe and Three Joes.

Also, if you’re looking for vegan friendly fashion then head over to H&N for their 100% sustainable cotton collections, Lush for soaps and other body products, as 80% of their range is vegan, and call into Newbie Children’s wear for sustainable materials and 100% organic sustainable cotton for ages 0-8 years.
