Pop Icon and Legendary Voice Tony Hadley to perform at Summer Series Millennium Square, Leeds on Saturday 21 July
Man of the people, 80s icon Tony Hadley is coming to Leeds! The hugely popular solo artist, songwriter and radio presenter will be bringing his inimitable style and fantastic stage presence along with his full live band and arsenal of hits to Millennium Square in Leeds on Saturday 21 July 2018.
The concert is part of an incredible line-up of events across the city during its hugely popular Summer Series in July and August with concerts already announced for Simple Minds and KT Tunstall, The Pretenders, Bananarama and more to be announced in the coming weeks.
Tony Hadley fronted the 80s Romantics global superstars Spandau Ballet, earning himself the accolade of being ‘one of pop’s greatest vocalists’. The band enjoyed huge success across the world with many chart-topping singles and albums, including Through the Barricades, True and Gold, the latter adopted as the unofficial London Olympics theme. The band partied ways in 1990 to pursue their individual careers, reuniting in 2009 and 2014 for sell out tours.
Tony continues to delight his fans with his solo career: writing, recording, radio presenting and performing.
Alongside his music, achieving many accolades, including the Gold Badge from the British Academy of Composers and Writers, Tony’s passion lies in his charitable work and fundraising. This has included trekking through a jungle, competing on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and an annual charity golf day, each supporting children’s hospices, medical research for sick children and several smaller personal charities. The star is a keen radio presenter with his own programme on Absolute Radio on Saturday nights. He has also enjoyed a stint in the West End playing Billy Flynn in Chicago and TV appearances including the enormous I’m a Celebrity… Get Me out Of Here!
2018 will see Tony release his eagerly awaited first solo album in many years, and he continues to make appearances across the globe with his band and Sinfonia orchestra.
