INUIKII

The Vice Versa Collection introduces a range of new soles with statement bubble soles, super-light summer soles and the new go-to slipper soles. This new selection of soles is no exception to the INUIKII commitment to using eco-rubber to create their soles which are made in Europe with up to 70% devulcanized rubber. The bubble sole makes for a statement shoe whilst ensuring the utmost comfort, adding prominence to well-loved summer styles.

The best-selling Matilda Sneaker keeps its popular and ultra-light weight EVA sole but embraces playful crochet designs and updated colourways. The Vice Versa Collection sees INUIKII’s sneaker range expanding with the brand new Lace Up Sneaker. A classic, more delicate design, the Lace Up Sneaker has an added twist of a leather tongue, the new logo and INUIKII’s signature lace. The leather is LWG certified, meaning that it is responsible leather that helps towards building a more sustainable future for the leather industry.

The Vice Versa Collection will be available from March at INUIKII.com, £160-£305.

An independently owned luxury footwear brand with sustainability at its heart.

London, February 2023: INUIKII introduces the Vice Versa Collection, brand new for SS23. This season sees the development of INUIKII’s signature styles, creatively experimenting with new techniques and handcrafting bespoke creations for the warmer months.

Inspired by the Innuits of Greenland and handmade in Europe, INUIKII was founded in 2013 by Cinzia Maag and her sons Danilo and Alessio. Working with organic and sustainable European materials as a tribute to the citizens of a landscape where beauty and sustainability co-exist, INUIKII aim to create sustainable, state-of-the-art curated footwear for all seasons.

The Vice Versa Collection takes INUIKII’s iconic summer styles into new dimensions of creativity and comfort, with all sandals sporting redefined soles to create an unforgettable summer experience. The new collection introduces the Sabot Venezia clog, featuring a unique, signature sole and available in a variety of bright colours. The introduction of the new Bubble style also features new, dynamic soles and uses the finest, LWG-certified leather to ensure endless comfort and functionality. INUIKII’s Woven Slipper has been reimagined, using new techniques such as braiding, knitting and crocheting to build strength and maximise durability and the best-selling Matilda Sneaker returns this summer season with the addition of bi-colour and suede styles.

“Our ultimate aim is to allow the wearer of each of our pieces to feel stylish and comfortable, but most importantly when they put on the shoes, create an individual personal fashion statement that is all their own.” Cinzia Maag, Founder & Creative Director.

The collection is available to buy at Selfridges and Inuikii.com, £145-£305.

A Family Affair

Cinzia chose to brave the unknown and do what she always has – give it all she’s got. She started marketing shoes at an agency, which was quickly followed by imports as a wholesaler, creating successes for well-known premium brands across Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. However, she saw a gap in the market to create something really stylish, durable, and sustainable. So, she set out to develop a footwear brand that could combine all three elements – and INUIKII was born.

Cinzia’s sons, Alessio and Danilo, have been a pivotal part of the development and growth of the brand and business. Danilo now acts as Chief Marketing Officer, steering the brand’s direction and marketing. Alessio is Chief Creative Officer, channelling his passion for creativity from a young age into innovative designs, and working alongside Cinzia across the footwear design, development and production.

After an incredibly successful start, INUIKII set their sights on global distribution, which is when the perfect partnership was born; Cinzia Maag met Swedish fashion entrepreneur duo, Nicole Nordin and Peter Forsberg*. The Swedish husband and wife team have extensive experience within consumer products and distribution, having successfully launched several well-known brands throughout the Scandinavian market and beyond.

Nicole has a background in finance and accounting with a master’s degree from Stockholm School of Economics. She started out in banking, but her passion for creativity and her love of fashion led her to start her own Scandinavian distribution company, importing and working with brands she loved. She initially started distributing INUIKII, and quickly saw the popularity of a brand that filled a gap in the footwear market, style and durability with sustainability at its heart. This ultimately led to both entrepreneurs joining forces to create a partnership where Cinzia continues to act as Creative Director, with Nicole heading up the sales and distribution of the brand – making the new INUIKII team truly a family affair.

What does INUIKII mean?

INUIKII, describes the beauty of two meanings: In the language of Inuit, ‘INU’ is a word meaning attractive that is fondly given to girls, and ‘IKII’ means cold or as we like to think, the cosy side of the boots. Together, the words create a short story of what INUIKII is and will continue to celebrate: the beauty of the cold.
