Hot n Boozy Banana Surprise

Hot n Boozy Banana Surprise @baldchefnicks Simple but Magical BBQ Treat.

There aren’t too many dessert recipes you can cook on the BBQ but this one I’ve been making for almost 25 years and it’s a big banana hit every time!

One individual serving as described below serves one person, simply multiply by the amount of people you are cooking for.

Prep time 5 minutes

Cooking time 7 minutes on a hot BBQ

You will need:

BBQ (with descent heat but not flaming)

Tongs

Silver foil cut into 10-inch square/portion

Ingredients per person:

1 Magnum (or a choc ice)

A Large Firm Banana

2 Tablespoons of Dark Chocolate (chopped)

1 Tablespoon of Light Demerara Sugar

2 Tablespoons of Disaronno

Dark Chocolate Sauce

Method:

Lay your silver foil square on a chopping board. Slice your banana in half – length ways and place in middle of silver foil square. Sprinkle your sugar over the banana followed by your chocolate chips and chocolate sauce.

Bringing the corners and sides of your foil together to create a loose silver foil parcel – make sure your Disaronno can be poured over the ingredients but not leak out. Seal your silver package leaving your ingredients loose inside (plenty of air). Place on BBQ upright (so as not to leak) for 7 minutes.

Take off package or packages when cooked and hot. Open package enough to pop a frozen magnum or choc ice of your choice inside and seal the foil for 90 seconds.

Count it if you can’t wait, it’s worth it. Then ‘Boom’ – open the package and enjoy its simply sensational!

@Baldchefnicks tips ‘n’ tricks:

Make sure your silver foil parcels are upright and sealed properly.

Use tongs so you don’t burn yourself.

Make sure your BBQ is hot.

One of the best Banana BBQ desserts ever so make sure you enjoy every last bit!

This is a great combo so if you don’t like banana (perish the thought) why not change it up a bit? Use rum and orange segments? Or Strawberry’s and framboise?

Cooking is all about invention and experimentation so have fun!
